At 9-Years Old, These Twins Became the Youngest Children in UK History to Attend High School

Peter and Paula Imafidon

Peter and Paula Imafidon, also known as “the Wonder Twins,” made history in 2012 as the youngest children in British history to attend high school. They both were just 9-years old. As British Nigerians, the pair became England’s highest achievers for being the youngest to ever pass the University of Cambridge’s advanced mathematics exam after participating in the Excellence in Education program. They also set world records when they passed the A/AS-level math papers.
Peter, who is also a 100m and 400m relay champ in London, says that he would like to serve as Prime Minister one day. Paula, on the other hand, is a county champion in rugby, and says that she would like to teach math one day. Both of them are also talented musicians.

Although the twins have had great achievements, they are not the only geniuses in their family. Their sister, Anne-Marie, has also been recognized for her intelligence. At 17-years old, Anne-Marie obtained her Masters Degree from Oxford University.

Their other sister, Christina, has amazing accolades as well. At 16-years old, she received multiple offers to earn a Master’s degree and won a scholarship to study at Imperial College in London. Another sister, Samantha, also made history when she became the youngest girl in the UK to attend secondary school at the age of 9. Even more, she was the one who mentored the twins to pass their own math secondary school test when they were also 6-years old.

Together, these sibilings are considered to make up the smartest family in Britain and this is largely due to their parents: Dr. Chris Imafidon and Ann Imafidon. Chris strongly believes that anyone can achieve what he has achieved with his family through a specific model for education. “If you really want a child to learn anything, find out the best way that child learns,” he once said. “Every human being has a unique way of learning.”
