Tim Reid is an African American actor, director, and producer, known for his remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry. Born on December 19, 1944, in Norfolk, Virginia, he has had a very diverse career in the arts, spanning over five decades.

Reid began his career as a DJ in the late 1960s, and his popularity led to appearances on various TV shows including The Mike Douglas Show and Soul Train. He later transitioned to acting and became a household name in the late 1970s and 1980s through his roles in the TV series WKRP in Cincinnati and Simon & Simon.

Reid's acting career also includes memorable roles in films such as Once Upon a Time... When We Were Colored (1995), For Real (2004), and Asunder (1998).
