About KIPP Jacksonville Schools
KIPP Jacksonville Schools is dedicated to preparing students in our city’s educationally underserved communities with the knowledge, skills, habits, and character for success in college and life. KIPP Jacksonville is comprised of three schools that serve the North and Westside of Jacksonville, Florida: KIPP Impact Middle School, KIPP VOICE Elementary, and KIPP Jacksonville Elementary. KIPP Jacksonville Elementary seeks a dance teacher for grades K-3 to join the specials team. This educator should have a clear vision for K-3 dance that includes students engaging in a variety of dance forms and performances. Dance instruction will supplement other core academic areas taught in K-3 classrooms and other specials areas offered at the school. This is a full time position and will directly report to the School Leader and work closely in our existing specials department. Relevant certification should be indicated in the appropriate section of the application.
All teachers are responsible for creating a positive environment for their students, implementing curriculum, assessing students, building relationships with our families, collaborating with their team and other duties as assigned. The band program is also responsible for periodic performances and assessments. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their School Leader.
All teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Schools work from 7:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m., Monday through Friday. Student hours are typically from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., although times vary by school. Every Wednesday is a student early release day (3:15 p.m.), allowing for teachers to participate in weekly professional development.
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred
- Relevant Florida teaching certification or equivalent (Dance K-12; K-6 OR Pre-K/Primary-Grade 3)
- At least one year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom; two or more years highly preferred

Our compensation is very competitive and is commensurate with experience.
+ Our current salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000
