Job Description
Research Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY

Supports senior research staff by assisting in the day to day operations including data collection and maintenance. Monitors research processes and procedures to ensure data quality is in accordance with corporate standards. Assists in training staff, management, and sales professionals in the use of research tools and resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors research processes to ensure data quality is in accordance with corporate standards.

Verifies market analytical reports related to transactions, vacancy, development, absorption, rents, tenants, and leasing activity.

Performs regular maintenance and updates to property databases by conducting telephone surveys, on-site surveys, research forums, broker meetings, extracting data from brochures and other marketing materials, contacting civic organizations, outside agents, internet, and other sources.

Delivers statistical and analytical reports as required by leadership and sales professionals.

Responds to ad hoc internal and external client requests for data, graphs, commentary, etc.

Assists in training staff, management, and sales professionals in the use of research tools and resources.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to co-workers.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Real Estate, Economics, Finance, Geography, and a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to handle and manipulate large amounts of data. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office. Possess a positive work attitude and ability to work in a team environment. Experience with Tableau considered a plus. Experience with Geographic Information Systems considered a plus.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
