Under general supervision calibrate, perform preventative maintenance of electronic and mechanical instruments to support Metrology lab and its customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Calibrates, adjusts and preforms preventative maintenance on test equipment and systems.
Operates test equipment to include but not limited to; digital multimeters, pressure calibrators, gage blocks, dial indicator calibrators, balances, multi-function calibrators, masses, thermometers, hygrometers, oscilloscopes and frequency counters.
Maintains proper documentation in accordance with customer and CBRE requirements which includes but is not limited to the metrology database, calibration certificates, equipment history forms, time sheets and automated calibration software.
Conducts extensive self-study to improve and maintain technical proficiency in calibration theory, methods and equipment.
Communicates with the customer as needed as it relates to the progress of the testing and repair.
Other duties related to the Metrology Services offering as assigned.
Assists other technicians in calibration in lab and occasionally on site.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
