Technology Applications Project Manager
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a Facilities IT-type job for those who have commercial facilities and project management experience.

This position must be located in Houston, TX or Chicago, IL. Remote working opportunity is not a possibility.


Responsibilities include managing and implementing detailed project schedules from proposal to implementation, coordinating activities of project teams, identifying project issues, organizing and verifying documents, communicating project information and assuming additional responsibilities as assigned. The PM will utilize PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) or Scrum as best practice, standards, and guidelines for all projects.


Review internal CMMS and work order system for changes and/or upgrades.

Utilize facilities background knowledge to understand workplace planning technology and make a project schedule for a successful technology program to release on time. 

Update information in the CMMS/work order system and archive any outdated information. 

Work with cross-functional teams like Engineering to identify technology issues and work together to problem solve. 

Plans, coordinates, and delegates work assignments for D&T (Digital and Technology) project team members.

Responsible for the oversight and performance of D&T project status, meetings, reporting, scope changes, financials, administrative, and technical issues.

Manages project scope, change management, monitors project progress and performance, and provides status reports to D&T management and Project Sponsors, as required.

Serves as liaison between client business team and CBRE D&T covering: D&T deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and budgets.

Manages expectations of sponsors, stakeholders, and team regarding scope of work and responsibilities.

Develops requirements and cost projections for projects.

Provides input into training and development plans for more junior D&T Project Managers and Coordinators.

Creates Requests For Proposals (RFPs) for external technology services.

Responds to RFPs for technology estimates. Determines RFP D&T pricing and respond to D&T related questions.

Manages projects on time and within budget.

Performs other duties as assigned.


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provides informal assistance such as guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related field such as math, business, information technology, or computer science, or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years of combined business and/or D&T experience. Previous Facilities Management background highly preferred.


Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, ScrumMaster (CSM) or ITIL certification preferred.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Manages and maintains project financial tracking and reporting.


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.


Project experience with Microsoft Project and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Visio experience a plus.


Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Manages several smaller projects or single large efforts on own, with consultation and reporting to Sr. Project Manager. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
