Office Support Specialist (6733) |
The Office Support Specialist for the Art and Design Department primarily performs administrative and secretarial support for the department, some responsibilities are specific to provide ongoing contract and budgetary support to Art Studio, the Graduate Art Therapy Counseling program, the Art Education Program, and Art History. Many of these tasks support the overall orderly operation of the department and may include document preparation, making travel arrangements, reconciling department p-card orders, timecard data entry, and upkeep of mailing/data lists for department. The Office Support Specialist will be readily accessible to help provide faculty, students and prospective students information on a wide range of departmental policies, budgets, contract procedures, schedules and regulations. Additionally, he or she will help manage the Art Store (CAGE) including the hiring of Graduate Assistant and student employees, supporting the Graduate Assistants with supervision of five to six student workers, approve ordering of supplies, prepare daily and/or weekly deposits, and preparation of retailers occupational tax reports. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the departments’ mission and goals.

Qualifications & Requirements
1. High school graduation or equivalent.
2. Twelve (12) months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that performed as an Office Support Associate or in other positions of comparable responsibility
3. Any one or combination totaling twenty-four (24) months from the following categories:
(a) Work experience performing clerical/office support work, including use of computer systems.
(b) Vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures.
(c) College or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education, or closely related fields.
36 semester hours = twenty-four (24) months.
(d) College or university course work in any curriculum.
60 semester hours = twenty-four (24) months.
