Assistant Professor of Philosophy|
The Department of Philosophy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is seeking candidates with excellent research and teaching skills for a tenure-track position in Philosophy. The chosen candidate will teach three courses per semester, to include Reasoning and Argumentation or applied/medical ethics. AOS: Philosophy of Law and Social/Political Philosophy, AOC: Feminist Philosophy. The department expects faculty to remain actively engaged in research and professional development around teaching, as well as provide service to the university and community.
Terms of Appointment
Continuing, tenure track academic year (nine month) appointment beginning August 16, 2018.

Qualifications & Requirements
A Ph.D. in Philosophy is required at the time of employment beginning in August 2018. Persons who have not completed all degree requirements by the beginning of the contract period (ABD) may be considered for a one-year term appointment at the rank of instructor until the degree is completed. Prior teaching experience required.
