Job Description
Physician (Primary Care)

Position Overview:

Seeking a Part Time (0.5 FTE) board certified or board eligible Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician to provide care to veterans at the Bismarck, North Dakota Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). Would also consider Physician candidates interested in a Full Time (1.0 FTE) position. Incumbent will perform outpatient duties, managing scheduled and unscheduled patients assigned to their panel. Panel size is determined by VHA PCMM software package and is specific to their practice and setting. No emergency services on site. Part Time hours will be tailored to meet the needs of the candidate and the Service Line but are expected to be 20 hours per week. Full Time hours would be Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 4:30. Salary is determined by the Physician's Compensation Panel. Board Certification is preferred and the candidate must hold an active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state or territory of the United States. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with regulations.

Basic Requirements:

* U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

* Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.

* Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

* Must be proficient in written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience:

Board certification or possess equivalent training and experience.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Requirements:?,

Heavy lifting and carrying (45 lbs. and over); straight pulling and pushing; reaching above shoulder; use of fingers; walking and standing (up to 4 hours); repeated bending; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; near vision correctable at 13" to 16"; hearing (aid permitted).
