Research Technician I-II, Molecular Immunology



Overview






The Program in Immunology in the Clinical Research Division is looking for a highly-motivated individual to support fundamental research on the mechanisms of immune responses to infection and cancer. The successful candidate will utilize a variety of cutting-edge cellular and molecular techniques to study murine and human immunity. The technician will be closely involved in the development of research projects using in vivo murine models. She/he should be capable of maintaining detailed laboratory records, analyzing data, and reporting experimental results.

Responsibilities






 

  • Produce lentiviruses and transduce murine and human primary cells
  • Perform various cellular and molecular experiments on murine and human cells, including NGS library preparation, gene editing, CRISPR, molecular cloning, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, and realtime PCR.
  • Prepare libraries for Next Gen sequencing
  • Contribute to in vivo experiments using murine models.
  • Purify and cryopreserve human hematopoietic cells.
  • Assist with the management and organization of the lab. Other duties as assigned by supervisor will be performed as necessary including placing orders, writing protocols and data analysis.








Qualifications






A bachelor’s degree in biological science and bench research experience beyond course work are absolutely essential. The candidate should have at least 2-years laboratory experience and must be a fast and willing learner. Experience working in cell culture, flow cytometry, functional assays, PCR, molecular cloning and vector construction are highly desirable.
